“Our Pride, Our Family”

I wish that I could fly away

From your soaring expectations

I play your game but you don’t even really show me love

So do you even care about anything I do?

Or will I always be compared to?

I hope you see that your pride ruins me

Before I say I’m gone

[My family loves me, though I couldn’t see, why I

Needed a new change, but I had to try, because

You’re only young once (YOYO), the world doesn’t stop

I wanted me.. so that’s who I became

I hope my brother will understand

I’m still the same person deep down

No going back, but I’ve still got, my family]

So you see, these two families

They struggled with defining

What’s good, what’s bad, what’s real, what’s not

And what’s a family

But it is essential that one thing remains

And that one thing is.. pag-ibig

It’s love, not pride

That forms a family

I know now for life, that I’ll always have my family

I understand that some will always find a way to disagree..

I wanted freedom, now I have it

But I know I had to say goodbye

… I’ll always love my family

Still, I had to leave my old life.. behind
